Looking for the perfect itinerary to create your dream getaway to Naples, FL? You’re in luck because Naples, Florida is a rare gem where luxury meets nature. The paradise coast offers pristine beaches, world-class dining, and breathtaking Gulf of Mexico sunsets. Whether you’re planning a one-day adventure, a long weekend, or a weeklong vacation this travel guide has you covered with the best tips and recommendations to make the most of your time. From downtown Naples to nearby Marco Island, I’ve included everything you need to plan an unforgettable vacation to Naples, FL.

As a local in Naples who loves exploring the area and hosting out-of-town guests, I’ve personally experienced everything on this itinerary. Not a single business has paid me to include them in this post, as opposed to many of the Naples guides on the internet. I’ve eaten at every one of these restaurants, visiting each of the attractions, and experienced the sunsets. As always, if I wouldn’t recommend this to my BFF, I wouldn’t recommend it to you!

Each itinerary includes must-do activities in Naples, along with hidden gems that only locals typically know about sprinkled in with a few things that feel touristy because isn’t it fun to feel touristy on vacation sometimes? Feel free to use these itineraries as a starting point and adjust them to fit your needs. Whether you’re staying on a specific side of town, traveling with kids, or have a limited amount of time in Naples, this travel guide is easy to personalize.

Naples, FL Travel Guide- 1-Day, 3-Day, & 5-Day travel itineraries

1-DAY MUST-DO NAPLES, FL ITINERARY

If you only have one day in Naples, you’ll probably want to spend it in our downtown area near 5th Avenue South and Historic Third Street. I particularly love this spot because you can explore Bayfront and Tin City as well. While Naples has so much more to offer, this area of town is most certainly one of the best places to go if you only have a limited amount of time in Naples. 

Morning: Start Your Day With Coffee and Brunch on 5th Avenue South or Third Street South

Begin your morning with a delightful coffee from a local gem like Bonta Bakery, Fifth Avenue Coffee Company, or Divine Naples if you are on 5th. Skip the chain cafes—Naples is filled with unique spots offering freshly brewed, flavorful coffee.

Once caffeinated, indulge in a leisurely breakfast or brunch alfresco. Consider Jane’s Cafe on 3rd for its lush garden ambiance, Tony’s Off Third for a homemade baked good, or EJ’s Bayfront Cafe for hearty breakfast options near Naples Bay. If you prefer something lighter, stop by The Cafe on Fifth Avenue or Dolce & Salata for European-inspired fare.

After breakfast, take a short walk to the beach to enjoy the Gulf of Mexico’s serene beauty. Simply walk towards the water from 5th Avenue or Third Street South to find several public beach access points. Stroll along the soft sand, dip your toes in the water, and soak in the tranquil views before the day heats up (especially during the summer months).

Afternoon: Shop, Explore, and Relax by the Water

Spend the afternoon browsing the boutique shops and art galleries on Fifth Avenue South and Third Street South. These picturesque streets are lined with specialty stores and galleries showcasing unique finds and local artistry. You won’t find a ton of tourist trap shops so take your time browsing and have fun!

Next, head over to Tin City, a historic waterfront shopping and dining district. Here, stop by Naples Soap Company to pick up locally made bath and body products. These natural, Florida-inspired goods make for great souvenirs or gifts. 

Stop for lunch at Pincher’s in Tin City. Yes, it feels like it could be a tourist trap, but this locally owned family run seafood restaurant is so much fun when you are on vacation. I always take visitors there because it is fun, on the water, and has high quality local seafood at very reasonable prices.

Afterward, visit the Naples Winery to sample and purchase Florida-made fruit wines, such as key lime or mango, for a true taste of the Sunshine State. No, the wine can’t compare to wine country, but it sure is fun to sit around and try a bunch of fruit wine while on vacation. 

From Tin City, take a short walk to Bayfront (there is a walking path under the bridge), a colorful waterfront area filled with shops, dining, and vibrant architecture. Pause for a refreshing cocktail at The Cabana Bayfront, where you can sip your drink while overlooking the picturesque views of Naples Bay.

If you have time, you can jump on the Naples Bay Water Shuttle to take you back near Third Street South. 

Evening: Sunset Stroll and Dinner on Third Street South

While the iconic Naples Pier remains closed due to Hurricane Ian, you can still enjoy a beautiful sunset by walking along the beach near the pier. This serene spot offers incredible views of the Gulf of Mexico and is the perfect way to wind down your day.

Pro Tip: Depending on the time of year, adjust your plans. During the summer, when sunsets happen later (sometimes as late as 9 pm), enjoy dinner first and then walk to the beach for the sunset. In the winter, when sunsets are earlier, watch the sunset first and then head out for dinner.

For dinner, explore the inviting restaurants on Third Street South, where you’ll find something for every taste. Consider these top choices:

  • Ridgway Bar & Grill: A classic Naples favorite offering fresh seafood, pasta, and seasonal dishes in a cozy, welcoming atmosphere. No one is paying me to say this, but the Ridgway courtyard will always be my favorite spot in Naples. It is well worth a visit.
  • Sea Salt: A contemporary seafood destination with creative dishes and an impressive wine selection.
  • Campiello: Known for its rustic Italian menu, wood-fired pizzas, and stunning courtyard ambiance.
  • The Continental: A chic steakhouse with premium cuts, fresh seafood, and a lively outdoor patio.
  • The Bevy: A modern, trendy spot serving creative cocktails and a menu of elevated American fare, perfect for a lively evening.
  • Barbatella: A delightful Italian trattoria offering house-made pasta, wood-fired pizzas, and a stellar gelato selection for dessert.
  • Tommy Bahama Restaurant & Bar: An island-inspired eatery with a laid-back vibe, tropical cocktails, and a menu featuring fresh seafood and Caribbean flavors. Fun fact: this is the original location of Tommy Bahama Restaurant!

Cap off your evening with dessert! Stop by Barbatella Gelato for authentic Italian gelato or indulge in a sweet treat from Tony’s Off Third, known for its decadent baked goods and desserts.

3-Day Naples, FL Travel Itinerary

Three days in Naples gives you the chance to dive deeper into the charm of the paradise coast. Whether you are visiting Naples for a long weekend or you are visiting in the middle of the week, you’ll be able to experience a little more of the best things that Naples has to offer. You’ll have time to visit the top picks and see the best beaches while also venturing into some nearby attractions. 

Day 1: EXPLORE DOWNTOWN NAPLES

Day 2: ADVENTURE & NATURE

Morning: Naples Zoo and Bagels

Start your day with a bagel at Brooklyn Dough with a Hole (order online to skip the line). If you aren’t a bagel fan or you are gluten free, pick up a breakfast taco next door from Paulita’s. After breakfast, head over to Naples Zoo at Caribbean Gardens or The Conservancy of Southwest Florida—or visit both if you have time!

  • The Naples Zoo offers a chance to see incredible wildlife, including giraffes, tigers, and lemurs, along with engaging conservation programs. If you are a beer drinker, you should definitely grab a “zoo beer”. A local brewery, Riptide, has a collaboration with the zoo. All the beers are unique to Naples Zoo. 
  • At the Conservancy of Southwest Florida, you can learn about local ecosystems, enjoy interactive exhibits, and even take a guided boat tour through the mangroves for a unique perspective.

Pro Tip: If you’re traveling with a group, this area is perfect for accommodating different interests. While some visit the zoo, others can hike along the nearby Gordon River Greenway—a peaceful trail that winds through scenic natural habitats.

Afternoon: Lunch and Exploration

While you’re on this side of town, you’ll want to get lunch at one of the best spots in the area.  Grab a bite at Lake Park Diner (7th Ave. N. location) for fresh and healthy casual fare, the downtown Turco Taco location for flavorful tacos, or Unidos for Latin-inspired dishes.

Afterward, your plans depend on the weather:

Evening: Dinner at The Turtle Club

Wrap up your day with a memorable dining experience at The Turtle Club, one of Naples’ best beachfront restaurants. Enjoy fresh seafood, stunning ocean views, and an upscale yet relaxed atmosphere. Be sure to make a reservation for a table on the sand. Actually, be sure to make a reservation in general! This place books up quickly. 

Pro tip: if you can’t find sunset reservations for The Turtle Club, try visiting for lunch instead. Lunch is first come, first serve and it is pretty easy to get a table on the sand for lunch. 

Day 3: ISLAND AND BEACH ADVENTURE

Morning: Choose Your Outdoor Adventure

Start your day with a healthy breakfast at The Bowl or Beyond Juicery & Eatery, where you can enjoy fresh juices, smoothies, and light bites.

After breakfast, choose your outdoor adventure:

  • Pick from a Variety of Boat Tours: Take a guided tour of the Ten Thousand Islands or Marco Island, where you’ll discover hidden beaches, wildlife like dolphins and manatees, and some of the best shelling spots in Florida.
  • Kayaking or Paddle Boarding: Rent a kayak or paddle board from Naples Outfitters or take a guided tour with Rising Tide Explorers and paddle through serene mangroves for a peaceful, up-close nature experience. Both have a team of guides who are very knowledgeable about our local ecosystems. 
  • Beach Day: Relax at Lowdermilk Park, a public beach with excellent amenities, including restrooms, showers, picnic tables, and concessions.

Afternoon: Lunch and Leisure

After your morning adventure, grab lunch near your location:

  • Near Marco Island: Try Snook Inn or CJ’s on the Bay for waterfront dining with fresh seafood.
  • Near Naples Outfitters: Love food trucks? Enjoy a casual meal by the water at Celebration Park, Naples’ first and only food truck park. Feeling a little fancier? Head to Rebecca’s for delicious food and great wine. 
  • Near Lowdermilk Park: Head to First Watch.

After lunch, take it easy—whether that means lounging by the pool with a good book, napping at your hotel, or exploring Naples’ boutique gift shops.

Evening: Sunset Dinner Cruise

End your Naples adventure with a sunset dinner cruise along Naples Bay. Companies like Pure Florida, Naples Princess, Sweet Liberty, and Cruisin Tikis offer an unforgettable evening featuring breathtaking views of the Gulf Coast, narrated tours, and a chance to spot dolphins.

Pro Tip: If you’d prefer to stay on land, enjoy a waterfront dinner at The Dock at Crayton Cove or The Boathouse, both offering stunning water views and fresh, local cuisine.

5-Day Naples, FL Itinerary

A five-day trip to Naples is the perfect way to balance relaxation, outdoor adventures, and cultural exploration. Since you are here longer you can exchange your local boating day for a trip to the Everglades. You can even venture into Everglades National Park if you wish! I have also included some bonus days below so you can interchange a day if you’d like. Here’s how to make the most of your time:

Day 1: ARRIVAL & DOWNTOWN NAPLES

Follow the first day of the 3-Day Itinerary. Stroll along Fifth Avenue South, grab coffee at a local spot like Bonta Bakery, enjoy alfresco dining, and explore boutique shops and art galleries. In the evening, catch live music at The Continental or one of the outdoor venues downtown.

Make sure to turn in early on this night because you have a day of adventure waiting for you tomorrow!

Day 2: ADVENTURE IN THE EVERGLADES

Morning: Explore Big Cypress or Everglades City

Start your day with breakfast at Skillets or First Watch before heading out for an unforgettable adventure in the Everglades. Choose from:

Afternoon: Lunch and Exploration

Stop for lunch in Everglades City at Camilla Street Grill or Triad Seafood Market for fresh stone crab and other local favorites. Afterward, visit the Museum of the Everglades to learn more about the history of this fascinating region.

Evening: Relaxing Dinner in Naples

Head back to Naples and enjoy a relaxed dinner on the water- choose from Syren Oyster & Cocktail Bar, The Bay House, or Kelly’s Fish House where you can dine with scenic water views and fresh seafood.

Day 3: WILDLIFE & ART

Day 4: NAPLES BOTANICAL GARDENS & NIGHTLIFE

Morning: Explore Naples Botanical Garden

Start your day with a delicious breakfast at one of these spots:

  • The Rooster: Perfect if you’re in the mood for Southern comfort food- so good that it made an appearance on Diners, Drive-ins and Dives!
  • The Claw Bar: Calling all seafood lovers! Their stone crab Bloody Mary is a standout.

After breakfast, spend the morning at the Naples Botanical Garden, a 170-acre paradise showcasing lush tropical gardens and beautiful walking trails. It’s a serene and picturesque way to explore the beauty of Southwest Florida’s native plants and international collections. It is also a great spot for photo opps! 

Afternoon: Indulge in some shopping or rest

For lunch, you can either stay at the Naples Botanical Garden and dine at Fogg Café, the on-site restaurant known for its fresh, seasonal dishes and gorgeous garden views, or explore nearby Bayshore for these local favorites:

If you’re up for a local beer, stop by Ankrolab Brewing Company. If it’s too early for you, don’t worry—you’ll have plenty of time to check out another brewery or two later!

After lunch, either indulge in retail therapy at Waterside Shops, Naples’ premier luxury shopping destination, (see below for more shopping spots) or head back to your hotel for a little downtime.

Evening: Catch a Show, Experience the Nightlife or go on a Brewery Pub Crawl

You’ve got multiple options to end your day:

Day 4 on the Naples travel itinerary offers the perfect blend of nature, great food, and entertainment, ensuring a memorable and dynamic experience!

Day 5: FINAL BEACH DAY

Follow day 3 of the 3-Day itinerary. Since you’ve already explore the Everglades you can have a more relaxing beach day if you don’t want to kayak or do a boat tour. We have plenty of beautiful beaches and if you’re looking for one that hasn’t been listed yet, try out Vanderbilt Beach. 

If you’re looking for more outdoor activities, you could venture to Corkscrew Sanctuary or to Koreshan State Park. Both are a haven for nature lovers who want to spot wildlife. 

BONUS VACATION DAY IN NAPLES: SPORTS IN NAPLES- TENNIS, GOLF, PICKLEBALL AND SPAS

Naples, FL, isn’t just known for its stunning beaches and natural beauty—it’s also a paradise for sports enthusiasts and lovers of luxury. With its world-class golf courses, award-winning tennis clubs, and booming pickleball scene, Naples offers plenty of opportunities to stay active in style.

Naples, FL, is conveniently located near several airports, making it accessible no matter where you’re coming from:

  • Southwest Florida International Airport (RSW): Located in Fort Myers, just a 35-40 minute drive from Naples, RSW is the closest major airport. It offers a wide range of domestic and international flights, making it the most convenient option for most visitors.
  • Naples Municipal Airport (APF): For private or chartered flights, APF is right in Naples and offers unparalleled convenience for those flying directly into town.
  • Punta Gorda Airport (PGD): About an hour’s drive north of Naples, PGD is a great choice for budget-conscious travelers, as it’s served by low-cost carriers like Allegiant Air.
  • Miami International Airport (MIA): Approximately 2 hours away, MIA offers extensive international and domestic connections. While farther, it’s a good option for those traveling from abroad.

Pro Tip: Depending on where you fly into, you may want to rent a car for your trip. While Naples itself is walkable in certain areas, having a car allows you to explore all the beaches, attractions, and surrounding destinations with ease.

It is easy to get an Uber or Lyft in Naples, so if you don’t want to rent a car, you’ll be fine with a ride share program.
