Don’t miss the seasonal prix-fixe menus and two-for-one specials—most restaurants on 5th Avenue South and Third Street South run incredible summer dining deals that locals live for. It’s an excellent choice for happy hour or a romantic night out, and the best time to experience Naples’ culinary scene without the crowds and high prices.

Additional planning tip: These outdoor activities are absolutely worth doing in summer, but timing is everything! Plan to arrive early (before 11 AM) or go later in the evening, and always bring bug spray and plenty of water.
15. Visit a Farmers Market & Cook a Local Feast | Our farmers markets get much smaller in summer, but it’s actually my favorite time to go! I love walking through the farmers markets without the crowds and supporting the small businesses that continue to brave the heat through the summer. Support local growers and artisans while stocking up for a fresh summer dinner. Don’t miss:

Recently named one of the best activities by Trip Advisor, I can personally vouch for Rising Tide’s service. Although there are other kayak rentals in town, I will always recommend these two businesses first.
18. Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary Morning or Nighttime Walk | Corkscrew Swamp Sanctuary offers elevated boardwalks through ancient cypress forests and is home to incredible local wildlife. Early morning visits provide the best chance to spot birds and other animals while avoiding the afternoon heat. It’s one of the most popular places for nature lovers and a perfect place to connect with Southwest Florida’s natural beauty. The sanctuary offers several nighttime walks throughout the year. Check the website for dates. I highly recommend going on one! It is such a unique experience to see wildlife at night.
19. Naples Zoo Morning Visit | Start your day early at the Naples Zoo to see the animals when they’re most active and before the heat sets in. The zoo features beautiful gardens, and summer is actually a great time to visit since many animals are more comfortable in the morning hours. If you are there for lunch, grab some food and get a local Riptide beer too. I love that the zoo supports our local breweries.

Delnor-Wiggins Pass State Park Beach Day | One of the most pristine beaches in the Naples area, Delnor-Wiggons Pass State Park offers public access to some of the most beautiful beaches in North America. Arrive early for the best parking and cooler temperatures, and don’t forget that bug spray for the nature trails!

Conservancy of Southwest Florida Nature Center | The Conservancy offers short nature trails, wildlife rehabilitation exhibits, educational programs about local ecosystems, and an eco-tour guided boat ride. It’s a great place for the whole family and offers insight into Southwest Florida’s diverse wildlife and conservation efforts.
